The main purpose of the role is to work under the instruction/guidance of the class teacher; to undertake work/care/support programmes; to enable access to learning for pupils and to assist the teacher in the management of pupils and the classroom. It will also involve working with pupil/pupils during some break times.

You will have:
• NVQ II or equivalent in teaching assistance or experience of working with and/or caring for children in specified age range/subject area and commitment to achieve (which can include accredited prior learning)
• the ability to work effectively within a team environment, understanding classroom roles and responsibilities
• the ability to promote a positive ethos and role model positive attributes
• Good personal numeracy and literacy skills
