The Raise Academy – Mental Health Counsellor

Start Date: February 2026 or as soon as possible.

The Raise Academy is a new school which opened in September 2024. The school specialises in supporting pupils aged 11-16. 

The Raise Academy pupils have the opportunity to be engaged in a wide range of vocational and practical subjects that will give them new opportunities to progress personally, socially and academically. The curriculum will be underpinned by high quality and supportive Maths, English and Science and all lessons will be taught in small classes of up to 8 pupils, with teachers, learning mentors and pastoral/teaching assistants.

This is a fantastic opportunity at our new SEMH school in Widnes to shape the school and transform the lives of children and those who look after them. Your key priorities will be:

  • To provide a high-quality counselling service to students experiencing a wide range of emotional challenges
  • Support the vision and direction of the school
  • To provide support, guidance and advice to parents, carers and across the school.
  • To observe appropriate confidentiality and to support the school’s endeavour to provide excellent teaching and learning for all students.
  • Contribute to the safeguarding and promotion of the welfare and personal care of children and young people
