The Bridge School is a Pupil Referral Unit for KS3 & KS4 students. The school is excited to offer the opportunity for an outstanding and dedicated Maths Teacher to join us on the next stage of our transformational journey. 

We are looking for an inspirational mathematics educator with a deep understanding of the curriculum and a proven record securing excellent outcomes within the classroom. You will be committed to fostering positive, purposeful relationships that enable every learner to thrive.

Since the appointment of new senior leadership in September 2025, the school is on an exciting journey with a revolutionary new curriculum offer and extended opportunities for students to achieve. Our school is committed to staff development and well-being including; additional paid well-being days off, smaller class sizes, additional PPA, praise and rewards and a forward-thinking leadership team who continually looking at how to reduce staff workload.

The role comes with the autonomy to oversee the Maths curriculum and its implementation throughout the school. We are looking for someone who can carefully craft and sequence the curriculum to ensure students retain knowledge and develop skills throughout their educational journey. The role will be predominantly teaching GCSE Maths to our KS4 students.

To us, we genuinely see that we are changing lives daily. The students at The Bridge School exhibit social, emotional and mental health issues which present through a range of behaviours. We therefore require a professional who is competent and skilled in managing and modifying behaviour, as well as being an enthusiastic and highly aspirational individual.

As a successful applicant you will have skills to engage and develop students who may have struggled with numeracy and whom have low confidence and engagement with learning. You will have the ability to identify specific strengths or barriers to learning, implementing innovative and creative strategies to remove these barriers, and invigorate participation. For a small number of students, who have significant gaps in knowledge, The Bridge School support with the delivery of Functional Skills. We are looking someone who can connect with students quickly and find a way to motivate, engage them, and create progress. In exceptional circumstances, you will be expected to use your expert knowledge and creativity to ensure students continue to receive a high-quality education via remote teaching and online learning.

Successful candidates should have the skills and personality to develop professional and sustainable relationships with both staff and students. Being positive, calm, resilient, consistent and reliable are essential. As with many teaching posts, pastoral responsibilities may include, KS4 Tutor Group responsibilities, delivering Personal Development, connecting with home and the daily development of students’ social, emotional and mental health needs. You will work closely with our amazing Teaching Assistants and Key Workers to support individual students.
