Teaching Assistant Level 3 (temporary)

NJC3/4 (SCP005-011) £26,427- £29,071 per annum FTE

St Gerard’s would like to employ a Level 3 Teaching Assistant for 22 hours per week (working 4 days Monday to Thursday 9.00am to 3.00pm, term time only). Looking to start 2 November 2026 pending pre-employment checks, temporary expected until 20 July 2027.

Please note that applicants must hold a Level 3 qualification.

Are you a committed, caring and outstanding professional who could contribute to giving our children the best future possible?  St Gerard’s Catholic Primary and Nursery School are looking for Level 3 Teaching Assistant.  Experience of working with children through a supportive approach is essential.

The successful applicant will:

  • - Have high expectations and be committed to school improvement.
  • - Have recent experience of working with children in Key Stage 2.
  • - Have some experience of teaching phonics.
  • - Have an understanding of the role of teaching assistant and able to work as a team.
  • - Be passionate about children’s learning and able to role-model all aspects of outstanding classroom practice.
  • - Be supportive of the school’s strong Catholic ethos.
